OXFORD twin Thomas Balmer has undergone potentially life-changing surgery to boost his mobility.

The Florence Park four-year-old appeared in the Oxford Mail earlier this year as his family appealed for help to pay for selective dorsal rhizotomy and physiotherapy.

His parents hope the costly surgery could reverse the effects of his cerebral palsy.

Thomas had the operation at Bristol Children’s Hospital on Monday and will spend the next few weeks recovering.
