Crash cyclist released from hospital

Cyclist Katie Lapper was released from hospital yesterday after she was injured in a collision with a car in Oxford.

The 26-year-old was cycling along Banbury Road at 8.45am when the accident involving a white Vauxhall Astra occurred at the junction with St Giles.

At the time of the accident, Ms Lapper was on her way from Jericho to work at the Oxford Business Park in Cowley.

She said: “When I came off my bike my hip hurt and I felt really shocked.

“I’m on crutches now but I think I’m going to be okay.”

So said Katie. I hope now you will be in touch with the lady you crashed into, offering her some compensation for the damage. I am sure if it was the other way round and it was her fault, you would be now planning a big claim from her insurance.

I hpoe that she is now going to offer to pay for the ambulance service and hospital costs as it was entirley her own fault. If this had been a motorist they are now expected to pay for the cost of the ambulance,
will she also pay for any damage that may have been done to this car? I expect the answer will be no to both these questions, because as usual the cyclist will get away with any responsibilty and the motorist will once again pick up the tab.

What a miserable bunch. A poor woman has an accident (and it doesn't even say in the article who's fault it was) and all you're interested in is getting money off her? Shame on both of you.

Hope you feel better soon Katie.

OM Dicot. Being a country bumpkin you are not aware of the goings on in a big city. I already stated that it was the cyclists fault, or can't you read. It was not an accident the cyclist caused a collision and as thus should pay for all of the expense incurred. A motorist would have to ,and so should the idiot cyclists, if a motorist had made the stupid manouvre that caused the colission he would have been prosicuted and been made to pay, so should the stupid woman who caused this. But in Oxford airy fairy land it seems that if you are on a bike you can commit murder and still be the innocent party. Thank god I haven't got long left.

As I haven't got long left may I invite all of you CYCLOTERRORISTS out there to defend your wounded soldier, before my time comes where I can't stand my ground
