Man punched in row about a parked car

A MAN was left with a broken skull in a row over parking in Blackbird Leys, Oxford.

The 48-year-old was punched in the face before he fell and hit his head in the assault in Pegasus Road on Wednesday.

Police said the victim was walking down the road when he got into a argument with another man over a vehicle parked on the pavement.

He was then assaulted.

Police were called at about 3.20pm by the ambulance service and the victim was last night in Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital and was said to be in a stable condition.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is on police bail until June 19.

Police said there was no suggestion the victim knew the attacker.

South Central Ambulance Service spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said a rapid response vehicle and a double-manned ambulance were sent to the scene after receiving calls about a man with a head injury.
