  • "An X-BOX on top of the buggy? Why would you walk around Cowley advertising yourself as a victim for robbery?. Although at that time of the day you would expect to be safe. But then again being half a mile from the Police Station you are well out of range for patrols to be around."

Man mugged as he pushed son's buggy

A dad was robbed at knifepoint as he pushed his baby son along in a buggy in Oxford.

The 37-year-old was approached by two men in Campbell Road, Florence Park, on Tuesday between 10.30am and 11am.

After threatening the victim with a six-inch kitchen knife, one of the robbers, a black man in his mid 30s, took an Xbox games console that was balanced on the buggy. He then rifled through the man’s pockets and stole his BlackBerry phone.

The thieves left on the cycle track towards the direction of Boundary Brook Road.

The main thief is 5ft 9in, well built, with shaved afro-style hair.

His accomplice, who was on a bike, was white, 6ft, of slim build, clean shaven and had short ginger hair. He wore a brown parka style jacket and blue jeans and was also in his mid 30s.

Anyone with information can call Det Sgt Pauline Heilbron on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
