THE efforts of two Slimming World consultants have been praised by singer and TV presenter Peter Andre.

Mandy Giraud and Val Neame, both from Bicester, were given the chance to meet the Mysterious Girl singer as a thank you for doing a great job with the dietary programme.

Ms Giraud, who runs the Slimming World group at Longfields Primary School and Southwold School, said meeting Mr Andre made the celebratory end-of-year event “extra special”.

She said: “Every week I feel extremely lucky to play even a small part in people’s achievements and I felt very honoured to represent our Slimming World groups at the Slimming World Awards.

“Cuddling up to Peter was a real treat.

“He was bowled over by the difference Slimming World makes to people’s lives and it reminded me what an important and privileged role I have as a consultant.

“Now I am heading into 2018 super motivated to support even more people in Bicester to be inspired to lose weight and lead healthier and happier lives.”

The Slimming World Awards event was held at the Birmingham International Convention Centre and recognises successful group leaders and members from throughout the year.

Peter Andre co-hosted the event with the organisation’s founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell.

Mr Andre said: “It was an honour to be invited to present the Slimming World Awards.

“I met so many incredible people who had lost amazing amounts of weight and transformed themselves – inside and out.

“Every one of them spoke passionately about how they couldn’t have made the changes without the support, and encouragement of their consultant every week.

“There’s no doubt in my mind people like Mandy and Val are very special.”
