A TRADITIONAL fete in Langford, near Clanfield, raised cash for the village school and charities, and celebrated The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
About 4,000 people turned out on Saturday, raising an estimated £3,000 for the school and hundreds more for charities including Oxford’s Helen & Douglas House hospice.
Visitors enjoyed a craft market, fairground rides and tea party.
Villager Jane Membury said: “It was fantastic to see so many people there having so much fun.”
Son Jack, seven, said: “I had a really good day and I liked trying to get the rugby ball through the hoop. It was good to see so many people out.”
Organiser Hayley Durbin, co-chairman of the Friends of Langford Village School, said the amount of money raised was “amazing”.
