GRAHAM Bagley will take on the 100km Thames Path challenge to raise money for his four-month-old daughter’s life-shortening condition.

Grace Bagley was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was just weeks old.

The genetic condition could give her a recurring cough, lung infections and affect her growth. The family, from Crowmarsh Gifford, found out Grace had the condition two weeks after she was born at Wallingford maternity unit.

Mr Bagley, 43, a communications manager at Oxford University, said: “There was the initial shock, but we said we’re not going to let it beat us. We’re going to be proactive, we’re going to give her the best life we can.”

The family, including Grace’s mum Zoe and her brother Edward, two, were put in touch with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which provided support.

Mr Bagley starts his walking challenge tomorrow.
