A woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted by a man in Crowmarsh Gifford near Wallingford.

Thames Valley Police said at about 9.30pm last Tuesday the victim was walking along the Watery Lane footpath, which runs alongside Newnham Caravan Park, when she was followed by a man who grabbed her and touched her.

A spokesman for the force said the man said hello to the woman before grabbing her, but she struggled and was able to run away.

The offender is a white man, in his mid-thirties, about 5ft 10ins, with a muscular build,.

Investigating Officer, PC James Moxey, based at Wallingford police station, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim, but luckily she managed to escape.

"We would like anyone who might have seen a man loitering or acting suspiciously around Newnham Caravan Park area on Tuesday evening, to come forward and contact us on 101."
