Families gathered in Wallingford last night for a Christmas concert following a lantern parade.
Youngsters carried their lanterns across the Market Place from the Regal Centre to St Mary's Church for the carol concert featuring St Mary's choir.
Town councillor Ros Lester came up with the idea eight years ago and it has been a town tradition ever since.
She said: "It was a good turn out and children were there with their families.
"There were lots of different kinds of lanterns but they were all safe as they used lights powered by batteries and not candles.
"I came up with the idea for this with Dee Cripps and it has been going ever since."
Children brought their lanterns into the church to display them and sang festive songs including Little Donkey.
