A PUB run in partnership with a world-famous chef has lung open its doors for the first time.

The Black Horse in Thame relaunched on Monday after being taken over by White Brasserie Company - a gastropub chain owned by Brasserie Bar Co, of which renowned chef Raymond Blanc is a director.

It is the first Oxfordshire pub the Summertown celebrity has taken on.

Its previous landlady Maureen Ashpole was among guests invited to the spruced-up venue.

She said: “It was a privilege to be invited back to a place that has been an important part of my life.

“Raymond Blanc and his White Brasserie team have beautified and infused life back into an amazing historic building.”

The pub in Cornmarket closed in September ahead of the refurbishment.

Diners can feast on dishes including coq au vin, fish curry, steak or pies - though Mr Blanc himself will not be cooking.
