THE first draw of a new council-run lottery will take place this week with a £25,000 jackpot for the winner.
South Oxfordshire District Council has started its own competition to raise money for 53 good causes including charities and voluntary groups.
It promises a one in 50 chance of winning a prize in one of the weekly Saturday draws which begin this weekend.
From each £1 ticket bought, 60p goes to good causes with the rest of the money going to the prize fund and running costs.
