POLICE are looking for a good Samaritan who rescued a woman who was being assaulted.

Thames Valley Police is asking the man to come forward following the incident, which they describe as a 'domestic-related assault'.

The force said the woman was shaken to the ground then hit while on the floor in Henley Road in Dorchester on Thames.

The anonymous stranger in a red T-shirt then intervened and drove the victim away from the incident, which took place at around 11.50am on Tuesday, April 10.

The force said: “We are making an appeal for this Good Samaritan to come forward, as we believe he will have crucial information about this incident.

“The member of the public picked the victim up off the ground and drove her away from danger in a silver car. He is described as around 5ft 9in tall with short grey hair and wearing a red t-shirt.”

Investigating officer PC Shahed Ali, from Thame Police Station, added: "My aim is to try and identify the man who came to the victims' assistance, so he can help with our investigation.

"The man is unknown to us, but he helped the victim in a distressing situation, and no doubt would have useful information. If you are this person, or you know who this person may be, please contact 101."
