A HEARTBROKEN little girl will go to sleep tonight hoping Father Christmas will bring her lost dog back home to Little Milton.
Ellie Day wants nothing else but to be reunited with her King Charles spaniel Ruby, who escaped from a garden in Great Haseley on November 29.
The four-year-old is convinced Ruby will be waiting for her under the tree on Christmas Day and her mum Caroline is desperately hoping an Oxford Mail reader can help.
After Ruby went missing the family spent hours putting up posters and calling the police, vets and dog wardens to try to find her.
Caroline Day, a 38-year-old gymnastics coach, said: “We put up posters and handed out leaflets in a 10-mile radius of Great Haseley.”
But so far the only response they have had was from a crook who tried to dupe them out of the £200 reward on offer for Ruby’s safe return by claiming that he had their pet.
The family reported him to police but the matter was not pursued further due to a lack of evidence.
If anyone has any information about Ruby, call 07507 563183.
