Conservatives hold their seat

The Conservatives have held their seat in a South Oxfordshire District Council by-election.

The seat, in the Chinnor ward, became vacant after district councillor Geoff Andrews stood down.

Lynn Lloyd, above, won the seat on Thursday after polling 591 votes.

Martin Wright, Independent, was second with 449 votes, while Labour’s Simon Stone was third with 184 votes.

The turnout was 29.1 per cent.
