THIS year’s Wantage Mummers Play raised £1,800 for charity.
The players, mostly from Icknield Way Morris Men, performed their traditional Boxing Day skit in Faringdon, Wantage and Childrey and asked for donations.
They raised £1,240 for veterans’ mental health charity Combat Stress and £560 for Oxfordshire disability support charity Vale and South Carers.
Melvin Seaborne, who played the part of “Old Father Beelzebub”, thanked everyone for their donations.
