CHILDREN from Fitzwaryn School in Wantage will benefit from new flower beds thanks to a £700 donation.
Wantage Rotary Club stepped in to help the special needs school students learn about the benefits of growing their own flowers.
About five members of the club created the new design, bought and cut up wood, and arranged for soil and manure to be donated for the wheelchair-accessible beds.
Club community committee chairman Jim Lidbury said: “We believe that by giving the children the responsibility of growing their own seeds and watching the flowers develop, it will give them a good experience to take into later life.”
The school has about 80 pupils aged three to 19 years old.
