A PROFESSIONAL storyteller visited Fitzwaryn School in Wantage to enrapture pupils with some folk tales.
Marion Leeper, based in Cambridge, has worked as a storyteller in schools, libraries, shops and museums for more than ten years.
She came as part of the Wantage (not just) Betjeman Literary Festival, named after poet and writer John Betjeman, who moved to Wantage with his family in 1951.
Kyle Lindsey, Year 5, said: βIt was very good. We had to imagine that a balloon was a frog. It was dark green and then it just popped.β
The Wantage (not just) Betjeman Literary Festival will begin tomorrow and continue until Sunday, November 1.
There will be events with authors and guest speakers around Wantage, in popular venues including The Beacon, The Bear Hotel and the Wantage Parish Church.
