ROTARY clubs are best known for their sterling charity work.
But Wantage’s club members are set to become rock ‘n’ roll Rotarians with their latest fundraising feat.
The town club is organising its first rock concert at the town’s civic hall, The Beacon, for March.
Club member Bill Roycroft said: “Because some of our old favourite fundraising activities have become a bit tired, we are trying something completely new this year.”
Rock at The Beacon on Sunday, March 5, will feature local talent young and old which may include Rotary club members themselves.
All profits raised will go towards supporting the Sweatbox youth club, local cancer charity Team Mikayla and other Rotary good causes.
Mr Roycroft added: “The more people who know about the event, the more successful it is likely to be.” Tickets will go on sale at The Beacon.
