Husband admits attacking wife

A 64-year-old Littleworth man has admitted attacking his wife after discovering she was having an affair.

Christopher Whiting appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday for assaulting Julie Sarvari-Whiting in the village near Faringdon on December 9 last year.

Henry James, defending, said his client, who has no previous convictions, acted in an out-of-character way after discovering his wife had cheated on him.

Whiting was remanded in custody until a bail hearing tomorrow, after which a sentencing date will be set.
