CAMPAIGNERS in Witney still need to raise £10,000 to help build a new splash park and play area on the Leys recreation area in Witney.

The Liven up the Leys group has already raised £10,000 over the past two years towards a project which will cost a total of £250,000.

Witney Town Council has also raised £230,000 in grants.

The campaign began two years ago when residents petitioned the town council to update a dilapidated paddling pool and play equipment on the Leys.

The latest fundraising initiatives are a crowd funding campaig. This can be found at spacehive.com by typing in ‘Liven up the Leys.

There is also an easy funding campaign where supporters can generate money from doing their shopping online.

This can be found at easyfunding.org.uk Campaign supporter Deb Benn, said: “It will be geared towards all ages and abilities.”
