A MAN trapped under a fallen tree was taken to hospital after being rescued by fire crews this morning.
An ambulance crew, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and two fire crews were called at about 9.20am after a tree fell in farmland in Minster Lovell.
A man, thought to be in his 30s, had chest and head injuries but they were not thought to be life threatening.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington by ambulance for further treatment.
Incident commander Matt John said: “With the recent high winds we have been alerted to a fair few incidents where trees have fallen, but thankfully very few people are ever trapped.
"The trauma trained fire crews worked really well with the paramedics to stabilise the casualty’s condition, whilst other crew members got to work removing the tree in a methodical and controlled manner."
The tree was removed using chainsaws and heavy lifting equipment.
