THOUSANDS have made the most of the glorious sunshine and delights on offer at the Witney Festival of Food and Drink this afternoon.

The third annual festival, this year sponsored by Wychwood brewery, saw 70 different stalls with producers all from within 40 miles.

Honey, cider, bread, meats, beers, fruit and veg, and chocolates were just some of what was being sampled and bought by the many punters.

The festival’s patron, TV presenter Alexander Armstrong, officially opened the day’s events at 9.30am this morning.

The host of BBC gameshow Pointless, who lives in the area said: “I’ve seen the festival grow in the last three years and it’s so exciting.

“Witney is incredibly well-served by artisans and food producers of such high quality.”

The festival, at St Mary’s Church, continues until 5pm.
