A NURSE who was first on the scene of a crash in West Oxfordshire has been asked to come forward by police.

Thames Valley Police said a green and blue coloured Ford Focus crashed into a hedge by the B4026 Charlbury Road on July 20, just outside the village of Spelsbury.

Officers believe a female nurse arrived at the scene of the collision, which happened at about 8.30pm.

Investigating officer PC Paul Daniells led calls for her to get in touch.

Mr Daniells said: "We believe that a female nurse was first on the scene. At the moment we have not been able to speak to this potential witness who may have information about what happened.

"I would ask them, or anyone else who saw this collision to come forward to assist us with the investigation. They can call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101."

A 29-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and in charge of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident, the force added. He has been bailed until August 24
