A MAN has been ordered to forfeit more than £5,000 in cash after being sentenced for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Richard Gray, 36, of Stenter Rise, Witney, had a Cash Forfeiture Order made against him at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday for £5,099.57.

Thames Valley Police said during a police surveillance operation in February 2015, Richard Gray and his brother Patrick Gray were seen to visit a field area near Thrupp Lane, Littleworth, where officers later discovered a plastic chewing gum pot containing approximately 25 wraps of suspected Class A drugs.

The same location was visited by the brothers on several occasions over a period of a few days.

Police said the brothers were arrested later that month and £12,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin was discovered in a red VW Golf they had been travelling in.

Richard and Patrick Gray were both charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, and having pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court Richard Gray was sentenced to four years and six months’ imprisonment on April 2, while Patrick Gray was sentenced to five years and four months’ imprisonment.

Their brother Martin Gray, 32, of Randolph Way, Woodstock, was jailed for 18 years alongside nine other members of an international drugs ring.

Financial Investigator Phillip Croxson from the Economic Crime Unit said: “The Cash Forfeiture Application at Oxford Magistrates’ Court was not opposed. Confiscation proceedings are still ongoing against both Richard Gray and Patrick Gray.”
