DAVID Cameron has been named the 'most impressive' parliamentarian of the year by fellow MPs.

The former Prime Minister and Witney MP, who left Downing Street last month, topped the poll by Ipsos Mori with 27 per cent.

This was more than his successor, Theresa May, who was named by 25 per cent.

Mr Cameron was also more popular among Conservatives. Some 35 per cent nominated him, with more backbenchers also preferring the former PM.

No other Oxfordshire MPs were nominated for the poll.
