POLICE have released CCTV images of the moment bikes worth £20,000 were stolen from a shop in Carterton.

A group of five or six people raided Mountain Mania Cycles, in Alvescot Road, at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 2 before making off with seven mountain bikes in a transit van.

They smashed the windows of the shop with sledgehammers. 

Thames Valley Police this morning issues CCTV images of the raid and urged people with information to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Adam Clark said: "I am appealing to anyone with any information about this offence to contact police as soon as possible.

"Perhaps you saw or heard something unusual in Alverscot Road, saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or have been offered these bikes for sale either face to face or online."
