THE National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children has added its voice to condemnation on a couple jailed for child cruelty charges.
The charity was speaking after Lisa Pratt, 37, and Andrew Clent, 30, were jailed at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday for 11 years for child cruelty on two children and Pratt for assault.
An NSPCC spokesperson for the East of England said: “It is truly shocking that any adult could be capable of the depraved acts that Clent and Pratt subjected their victims to and no child should have to suffer this horrendous abuse.
“This was sustained cruelty that will have deeply affected the children and it’s vital that both brave victims are receiving all the continued support that they need.
“Child protection is everyone’s responsibility and in this case the vigilance of neighbours helped bring Clent and Pratt to justice and prevent them from harming any child further."
Anyone concerned about child abuse can call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
