A TREEHOUSE belonging to the Beckhams accused of ‘making a mockery of planning process’ has been approved.
David and Victoria caused a bit of a stir in Great Tew with one of the components of their £6m farmhouse development.
The issue related to a treehouse that appeared next to their sprawling E-shaped mansion, near the exclusive Soho Farmhouse, despite there being no planning consent from West Oxfordshire District Council.
One resident, David Holland, had objected to the addition, arguing that ‘normal folk’ would be forced to take it down.
Since the furore, an application for retrospective planning permission was submitted to the council and granted - with one proviso.
The celebrity couple will have to ensure all lights on the treehouse are off by 4pm.
