CARERS refused to let treacherous road conditions stop them reaching elderly clients and even hitched a lift on a tractor to dodge the worst of the weather.
Witney-based Kim Oakey discovered her car was stuck on her road on Friday morning after severe snow drifts hit West Oxfordshire.
She set out walking to ensure she made her six morning appointments but then her sister-in-law's husband Andy had a better idea.
The tree surgeon-turned taxi driver for the day to ferry Ms Oakey and her colleague Kerri-Ane Igesund around in the back of his tractor.
Ms Oakey said: "It was great, we managed to see everyone.
"They all found it quite funny to see us park the tractor outside their house.
"You should have seen their faces."
The pair of self-employed carers operate a small caring businesses for elderly and vulnerable people in Witney and the surrounding area.
They say they have never once missed an appointment and were not about to let the snow and extreme weather put pay to that record.
Ms Oakey added: "Being self-employed, you get quite close to your clients.
"You see them every day and leaving them stranded and on their own wasn't an option.
"We have never let anyone down and we were going to get there one way or another."
