A FAMOUS loose woman will join flocks of female fundraisers taking on the Pink Ribbon Walk at Blenheim Palace today.

Television star Andrea McLean is set to join hundreds of others at the event which raises vital funds for national charity Breast Cancer Care.

Online registration has now closed but those who want to take part can still sign up at the registration stand this morning.

Those wanting to sign up today can arrive at 8am for the 20 mile walk or 10.30am for the 10 mile walk.

Pink Ribbon Walk manager Preena Mistry said: “We are so excited to welcome everyone to the Blenheim Palace Pink Ribbon Walk. Hundreds of people have signed up already and those who haven’t registered yet can still do so today.

“By taking part, you’re helping to keep Breast Cancer Care’s vital services free so the charity can continue to provide care, support and information for anyone affected by breast cancer.”

Everyone will be cheered across the finish line and will receive a complimentary hot meal, massage and medal after completing the route.

The walkers at last year’s event, including women who have had breast cancer, raised more than £170,000 for women, men, family and friends affected by the disease.

Walkers can enjoy the World Heritage Site’s grounds and all will be invited to write a personal message on a ribbon, which can be added to the display of ribbons at the end of the walk.

All participants also receive a celebratory medal at the finish.

Ms Mistry continued: “We’ve been collecting your messages of love and support on our display of ribbons for 14 years and we hold on to every single one. We can’t wait for you to add yours.”

More than 500 people in Oxfordshire will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and all funds raised at the Pink Ribbon Walks enable the charity to provide care, support and information to them from day one.

Breast Cancer Care is the only specialist UK-wide support charity for people affected by breast cancer.

The charity provides a range of services, including specialist nurses, local face-to-face services and a vital online support network.
