A FILM club has been launched at a West Oxfordshire primary school to get children passionate about movies, writes Jennifer Rivett.
This month, pupils of Chadlington Primary School gathered for the first meeting of the free afterschool club.
Film club leader, Claire Ogden, said: “I have always been passionate about enriching the lives of children in our little corner of rural West Oxfordshire, and so I am extremely excited about the Chadlington School Film Club.
“It will hopefully broaden the horizons of all the pupils attending, and will benefit them socially, educationally, and spiritually for years to come.”
The primary school has joined 1,600 other schools across the country which run their own weekly clubs.
Pupils can select from thousands of different films to watch each week, and can then write their own reviews.
The club is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the UK Film Council.
