SOME parents might have trouble remembering the precise time of their child’s birth, but not a couple from Aston.

Simon and Katie Lassam’s daughter Lucy was born at precisely 8.10pm on October 20, 2010, or 20.10, 20.10.2010.

Mrs Lassam said she first realised the date on the way to hospital, and remarked that it would be memorable.

Yet after a quick labour, it dawned on them that Lucy’s birth would be unique.

As the time approached, Mrs Lassam said she thought to herself: “I’m going to go for it.”

She added: “But hitting it on the nail is quite incredible really.”

Lucy, born two days premature, is the couple’s second child, joining two-and-a-half-year-old sister Emma.

Mr Lassam, 32, said: “Being a new dad is really exciting at the moment, but, as every father knows, it’s hectic as well.”

Mr and Mrs Lassam, met at school, aged 16.

They have recently moved to Aston, from Wantage, to find a bigger home for their growing family.

Mrs Lassam said: “We have always loved the shops and the buzz of Witney, and we found a house we liked in the area and went for it.”

She said the schools were also a factor, and, fittingly, Tuesday last week was their daughter Emma’s first day at play group.

Mr Lassam runs a web design company, and Mrs Lassam runs a wedding video firm. Mr Lassam was born in Oxfordshire. Mrs Lassam moved to the area from Wokingham when she was about 12.
