CRIMINALS seem to be hedging their bets in the search for loot.

A topiary bear has been stolen from a house in Teasel Way, Carterton, after thieves pulled up in a van and grabbed it from a front garden.

Police said on Tuesday, April 17, at around noon the thieves drove a white Vauxhall Combo van on to the driveway of the property and a passenger got out of the van and took the topiary bear.

It is around 3ft 5in tall including the pot, which was also taken.

Pc Mike Cope, from Chipping Norton police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who has been offered it, or if they bought the item in good faith, or if they have noticed the pictured item around their area, as I am keen to hand it back.”

Anyone with any information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
