The classic comedy Wind In Ihe Willows will be performed by a star-studded cast in Stonesfield.

Toad, Mole, Badger and Ratty will be brought to life by the Stonesfield Players at Stonesfield Village Hall.

Thirty-one actors of all ages and local rock band The Village Idiots will have audiences laughing and dancing.

The production will feature Bafta award-winning composer Nicholas Hooper, who has written for the Harry Potter films, Birdsong and Prime Suspect, taking on the role of Mr Badger. Sets have been designed by 2012 Olivier-nominated Michael Taylor and lighting by Bafta and Cannes prize-winning film director Chris Bartle.

Pictured from left are Mark Saville as Ratty, daughter Katie as the Otter and Lucy Martin as Mole.

Stonesfield resident Mr Saville, 48, said: “It has been incredible fun for everyone. It is a thoroughly original and entertaining version of Alan Bennett’s classic interpretation.”

The production opens tonight and runs until Saturday, with performances at 7.30pm, and a 2pm Saturday matinee. Tickets cost £3–£8 on 01993 898454 or from Amlu’s Village Store, Stonesfield.
