MINSTER Lovell Playgroup is celebrating its new building which was dropped off – literally.

The group managed to raise £80,000 to pay for a replacement for its dilapidated building in the grounds of St Kenelm’s Primary School.

If the cash had not been found the playgroup, which looks after 24 children and has been rated “outstanding” by Ofsted, would have had to close.

Manager Vicki Wright said: “We are absolutely delighted to have this new building. It has been a long, hard slog.”

Cash for the building came from fundraising as well as grants from Oxfordshire County Council and Minster Lovell Parish Council.

Six-year-old Minnie Fayers said: “It was very exciting to see the buildings being lowered down and there was a really high crane.”
