WITNEY Angels climbed to fourth in RFU Women’s National Challenge South East West 2 after a 25-12 victory at Barnes.

The hosts scored first from a breakaway, but Witney hit back with five tries.

Louise Gray scored Angels’ opener on the overlap before Jen Nicholson and Kelly Ebanja sidestepped through for the next two tries.

Lil Newton powered through the middle for her try, while No 8 Sophie Hicks wrapped up the scoring.

  • CHINNOR reached the fourth round of the National Colts Plate with a 21-13 victory at High Wycombe.

They took the lead with a try from Ross Bunsell, while George Grosse’s penalty made it 8-8 at the break.

Grosse put Chinnor ahead with another penalty, but a second Wycombe try restored their lead.

However, Lewis Aitken burrowed over for Grosse to convert and the same player’s third penalty sealed a battling victory.
