As someone who criticised after the last two poor results I give credit where it's due and say its a good result, any win even by1 goal is a win and 3 points. Maybe confidence will be higher after this but it doesn't change my view that the club is being badly run from the owner thru to the management and the coaching staff and some of the players, not all of them I hasten to add, I still wonder what some of them are being paid tho when we are tight to the wage cap but have such a small squad, yes I know we have several players out injured but only able to name six subs shows what a small squad we have. The future is still very unclear but it's good to have 3 more points.

what a relief. i was starting to seriously doubt whether these players had the mental strength to grind out another result. well done.

Yep, a good and much needed result. That result should just about see us safe now - another 3 points should just about do it. Hopefully it will give the players a bit more confidence and belief. Let's hope they carry this into Saturday's home game.

Oh and Oxford Mail, is there any truth in the rumour that London Welsh trained on the pitch last week prior to our game against Fleetwood? Would certainly explain why the pitch looked even worse than ever.

Nonetheless he has probably got more than Midson might have had he played as the central striker. Many more, please James . Keep up the hard work - some of the above named were lazy at times

A good win, even Radio Oxford wondered if playing on a decent surface helped us. My mole on the ground said that there was a full scale rugby session the Friday before last week's game. Pity the chairman's priority is so obviously biased towards rugby.

BigAlBiker, you need a reality check, We still have a chance, slim I know, of either playoffs or relegation so you rightly go for experience, Yes Tyrone could be sat on the bench not getting games or he could be at Staines getting vital experience with no pressure on him I think the majority of league managers would agree with what CW has done but you obviously know better, let's face it IF we won all our remaining games and got promotion you are so blinkered and anti Wilder you would still want him gone, CW will be gone at the end of this season as we won't get into the PO imo so next season we can look foward to you slagging off the next manager unless of course you get the job!

Do you really believe it is our chairman who allowed the rugby club to practice on the pitch?

Only one person can agree or refuse that rugby club permission to practice on the pitch and that is Kassam. Yes our chairman is a rugby man, but he is owner of Wigan Warriors who play rugby league in Wigan. He has nothing to do with London Welsh rugby union club.

We only had 6 on the bench yesterday. What has happened to the accelerator squad? Why not put a youth team player on the bench? Even if he doesn't play, it would be a good experience for him.

Have anybody noticed that when Oxford are miles away from promotion or the playoffs places they go on winning runs but when we closes in on them our form seems to go to pot. It has happened for three seasons now. Just a thought.

Big IF, with these donkeys we have at best I see three/four wins in the rest of the season tops, the rest of the games I reckon we will do good to scraps draws.

You say he should go if we don't go up after the play offs, his contract is up so he should go no matter what as if we were lucky enough to go up he isn't the guy to take us into the next step. He did well getting us back into the league but even that has to be put into perspective, we went up thru the play offs and with a huge home support at Wembley even his players couldn't fail to be lifted. We didn't go up as Champions and that should not be forgotten. He has gone as far as he can with OU, who knows with another club he may go further but to me our small squad proves that he is overpaying a lot of the squad, how else can it be that we are so small on numbers. He bleats on about other clubs with big squads but surely if we all operate under the same wage cap system then the likes of Fleetwood must be paying players less than we are, I am aware that they own the ground and the owner operates his businesses from the ground and its let out almost daily to bring money into the club but surely that doesn't raise their wage cap, or does it? Does anyone know the answer to that? What we need is a new squad on sensible wages, possibly younger and fitter and all having had proper Medical checks before being signed and coaches that can coach in all the right areas including striking.

Doesn't mask the fact wilders team are very poor and won't come up against a team that are even worse than them(As Plymouth were) too often for the remaining matches.

I'll be astounded if wilder is still the manager of oufc next season, i have the feeling he knows his days at the Club are numbered though.

We need someone who can motivate and bring out the best in players, and not worried if it aint too pretty- it's a results business and if the new man gets them, great.

Wilder is doing a good job in difficult circumstances.

Kassam still controls the budget as we have to pay so much in rent we can't afford quality players or pay decent wages. All the Wilder and IL out brigade it is easy, get a few million together and buy IL out,get your own manager and coaching staff in, then we will see if you can do better Oh and by the way get another 12 million to buy the stadium then maybe there would be more money available. For me a supporter for over 50 years better to have a team to support than end up with no team at all as so nearly happened in the not to distant history. Maybe Wilder is not the man to lead us to higher levels (Championship) but he is fair at this level. Support theteam for the remaining games and it is still not impossible that we go on a good run COYY

Totally agree with this and the ball and chain that is the Kassam stadium. Unfortunately until something is done and we own our own ground then we are going to be severely restricted in what we do as a club. I don't know the ins and outs of the contract that we have on the ground but clearly we can't move away from it otherwise we would have done by now.

agree with southstandupper ,as another 50 year supporter have seen good and bad times and can remember things being a lot worse than at this time. cant agree with people who slag leneghan off as its his financial support that is keeping us afloat. we all want success but its not easy as competition is fierce .stick with cw and see what the end of the season brings play offs are still just about possible.

The only complaint that I have against Lenagan is that he has lacked the courage to get rid of a manager who has quite clearly taken the club as far as it can go. At £1.2 -£1.4million per year, the club has one of the larger playing budgets for the division, but it has been squandered on unfit "superstars", and mediocre back up. You only have to look at what Mickey Adams has done at Port Vale on a restricted budget to see how it can and should be done.

I am perfectly happy with the investment Mr. Lenagan has put into the club and believe him to be an honourable man. I just hope he doesn't delay the inevitable for too much longer as it is detrimental to the future of the club.

Who is looking at player recruitment for next season? We should be looking at what is available now and not when it is too late. Chris Wilder should be nowhere near being involved with this. His track record at this level is proven to be one of failure.

The outgoing owners don't want anything to do with you any longer and the incoming ones seem to not have a pot to **** in - hence the Ritchie sale. You are over £13 million in debt thanks to your previous owner not having the strength to stand up to your lunatic ex-manager's constant demands for new players because the previous lot he had signed were not good enough after all.

The new owners can't make any decisions regarding the manager, the old owner doesn't want to. You are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

A very weird week at STFC - now TOP of the League 1 - and no manager and no new owners yet.

So yes, to answer Manor Born of course we are worried - mainly about the unknown, we know we have a fantastic team.

I still think promotion will cause us more grief - so I'd say stay put ,consolidate and sort the finances out.

Still, we'll make the most of being perched in top slot for now - helps blank out temporarily, the other issues - tomorrows another day in the roller coaster ride ....
