London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs looks on ruefully after being ruled held up in the second half
LYN Jones felt London Welsh lost their discipline to let in Sale Sharks in the final 15 minutes.
The Exiles’ coach was happy with a lot of their play, but said: “The turning point came at 15 to go.
“We had a scrum and the Sale loose-head did very well to manufacture a penalty.
“We were going well and the discipline was good, but then our knees buckled a little bit and Sale came back into it.
“We conceded five penalties in five minutes and the next thing you know, we are under the cosh again.”
He added: “The feeling in the changing rooms is frustration that we could easily have won the game, but it wasn’t to be.”
Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond was heartened by his side’s fourth win a row.
But he stressed: “We are still bottom of the league and have got Harlequins and Leicester to come in the next fortnight.
“We have a job on on our hands and are by no means out of the mire.”
Diamond added: “London Welsh have had a great season so far, but we have just got to look for survival and we needed four points today.
“Like ourselves, they won’t go without points for the rest of the season. They are a good side.
