OXFORD Harlequins were left disappointed by a 38-29 defeat at promotion-chasing Weston-Super-Mare.
Quins should have been further ahead than 17-7 at half-time, but lost focus after lock Will Clayton was stretchered off with a neck injury.
Clayton was taken to hospital in Weston, but travelled back on the team coach after a scan gave him the all-clear.
Hooker Craig Withers was driven over for Weston’s opening try on 14 minutes, fly half Chris Young converting.
Quins levelled via prop Simon Chadbone in similar fashion, full back Will Hilton converting.
Weston No 8 George Sparks and flanker Paul Morrissey were yellow-carded before Hilton slotted a penalty.
On the stroke of half-time, centre Jack Cosins ran in from 50 metres, Hilton converting.
Young converted a try from Eaton on 50 minutes before Clayton’s injury led to a lengthy hold-up.
Tries from centre Sam Smee, Withers and replacement Grady Wright, all converted by Young, proved decisive.
Quins rallied with No 8 Seisoni Tupou powering over, Hilton converting.
Cosins made it 35-29 with an interception try, but Young slotted a last-minute penalty.
