OXFORD United chairman Ian Lenagan has urged fans to ‘stick together’ on the day the club announced their season-ticket packages for the 2013/14 campain.

They show a slight increase on this season’s prices, which had been frozen for the past two years, but the club are hopeful the rise will be offset by a variety of new incentives.

“We are very positive about next season,” said Lenaghan (pictured above).

“Following a survey which involved as many as 1,500 fans, we’re confident we’ve produced a package that will enhance the matchday experience.

“Consdering we haven’t increased our prices for three years, the rises are tiny – about three per cent when we include all the other measures that have been introduced.”

Questioned on the timing of the announcement – following United’s defeat by bottom club Aldershot on Monday – Lenagan said: “Obviously, the fans are a bit low at the moment.

“But this is the right time to announce the deals, and I’m confident with the marketing expertise at our disposal that we’ll match the figures of last season.

“Obviously there will be a lot of churning (turnover in season ticket holders).

“But we have a strong core of support and when fans see the overall package, they will want to be part of a business going forward. It’s vital we stick together for the 2013/14 season.”

The cheapest adult seats for supporters renewing their season tickets are in the East Stand and cost £254 – an increase of £14 from the 2012/13 prices. These are available until May 17.

Early bird rates for adult fans buying for the first time begin at £281, up from £252, providing they are purchased by July 19.

Under sevens are again free when accompanied by a paying adult, while there is a new under 18 category (£158) between the under 16 (£125) and adult price.

The U’s, who have around 4,000 season ticket holders this campaign, have scrapped the £5 booking fees.

Other incentives include £5 discounts on the replica shirt, the Yellow Player section on the website and programme subscription.

Anyone introducing new season ticket holders will also gain significant discounts.

Tickets go on sale from Monday morning.
