CRICKET: Banbury women are county champs

Banbury are the inaugural Oxfordshire Midweek Women’s League champions after beating Oxford by 44 runs in the final at Charlbury.
Chloe Hill (25no) and Harriet Boland (24) led Banbury to 106-5. Oxford were restricted to 62-4, despite Roxaana Clayton’s 21.
Charlbury finished third after beating Moreton by 14 runs.
Charlie Deeley took 3-6 for Moreton, but Vicky Strode (17) and Lucy Blackler (16) steered Charlbury to 73-6. Blackler claimed 3-2 as Moreton were bowled out for 59.
Earlier, Moreton had beaten Wittenham by nine wickets.
Georgia Haworth (4-6) and Deeley (2-6) ensured Wittenham were all out for 47. Alex Haworth (25no) led Moreton to 48-1.
