ICE HOCKEY: Stars hope to make fitness tell

OXFORD City Stars hope match fitness will be the key when they travel to take on Peterborough Islanders for their South Division 2 clash tomorrow (5pm).
While Stars top the table after two wins out of two from their opening matches, Peterborough have yet to begin their campaign.
They are the last team to get started which could put them at a disadvantage.
The visitors will have to be wary of Islanders prolific scorer James Pentecost.
Stars expect to be unch-anged following last week’s 12-1 rout of Basingstoke Buffalo.
Last season Pentecost led the scoring with 57 points in 23 games and will naturally be a potent attacking force for the hosts.
They are relatively unchan-ged from last season under player/coach Ross Mackintosh.
In 2012-13, Peterborough led after four months, but fell away, twice losing to cham-pions Oxford.
Stars prevailed 5-2 at Peter-borough and then romped to a 7-1 victory in the return, making the title all but secure.
