SCHOOLS SPORT: Bure Park are champions

Bure Park won their first Bicester Primary Schools Cross Country Championship after wresting the title away from Langford Village.
The event at Bicester Community College saw Bure Park win by 57 points and provide three of the six individual winners.
A record 11 schools and 611 children took part, with Bure Park dominating the Year 1 and 2 events.
Sophie Shaw won the girls’ race ahead of Holly Keeble, with Hollie Offord (Brookside) third.
In the boys’ race, Bure Park’s Xander Cameron held off strong challenges from second-placed Kian Duggan (Fritwell) and Finlay Hennessy (Brookside).
Michael Cadle (Longfields) cruised to the boys’ Year and 4 title, ahead of Langford pair Elliot Hayes and Oliver Webb.
Chesterton’s Carmen Kirk-Soriano took the girls’ honours ahead of Fritwell’s Annie Bowler and Bella Couzens (Bure Park).
Millie Couzens recorded Bure Park’s third victory of the day in the Year 5 and 6 girls’ event, with Lottie Wyne Jones (Langford) and Rushani Arumugham (St Mary’s) second and third.
Connor Duggan (Fritwell) was the boys’ champion ahead of Charlie Smith (King’s Meadow) and Thomas Kavanagh (Chesterton).
Final standings: 1 Bure Park 98pts, 2 Langford 155, 3 King’s Meadow 261.
l GLORY Farm were crowned Cooper Family of Primary Schools’ Tag Rugby Festival champions after beating Longfields in the final.
The event at Cooper School, Bicester saw ten teams from Langford Village, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Glory Farm and Longfields take part.
Glory Farm and Longfields will now compete in the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership Tag Rugby Final later this month.
