HENLEY Hawks’ long trip to Blaydon ended in a 39-5 defeat.
Hawks conceded six tries to opponents who leapfrogged them into eighth place.
Blaydon led 19-0 after having the wind behind them in the first half, while Henley could manage only a solitary try in the second period.
Scrum half Andrew Davies opened the scoring for Blaydon with a try on nine minutes, while Henley lost lock Josh McNally to injury.
Blaydon fly half Andrew Baggett, the brother of Hawks squad member Neil Baggett, converted tries from hooker Francis Entressengle and wing Thomas Jeffrey to leave them in control.
Lock Christopher Wearmouth went over for Blaydon just after half-time.
Wing Liam O’Neill replied with Henley’s effort before Baggett was sin-binned.
Hawks prop Hugo Milford-Scott was yellow-carded on 64 minutes.
Blaydon wrapped up the spoils and their fifth successive win with tries from prop Robert Kalbrier and wing Sean Brown, with Baggett adding a penalty and converting the latter.
