CHINNOR could not quite recover from a slow start in their 20-15 defeat at Taunton Titans.

The visitors trailed 14-0 after 25 minutes, but reduced the arrears to 17-15 before James Forrester’s later penalty sealed it for Taunton.

Titans scored twice while Chinnor were a man down, the first coming after fly half Will Millett was sin-binned on 13 minutes.

No 8 Daniel Lee went over, with fly half Forrester converting.

Chinnor scrum half Frank Jones was yellow-carded on 23 minutes, a minute before flanker Ratu Vakalutukali scored for Taunton, Forrester converting.

Centre Sam Angell’s try gave Chinnor hope before half-time.

Taunton had prop Jake Woolmore yellow-carded on 44 minutes Chinnor wing Joe Marston’s try made it 14-10 before Forrester’s penalty stretched Titans’ lead.

Marston went over again on 69 minutes, but Angell missed the conversion as Millett had done with the previous two tries.

Forrester showed how it should be done with a 79th-minute penalty.
