ASA Hall has returned to Shrewsbury Town after his loan at Oxford United expired.

The 27-year-old rejoined the U’s for a second spell in July and has been a regular in the first half of the season.

Hall made 21 appearances, starting 16 games, and scored three goals before the deal ran out yesterday.

Both United and the player had made it clear they were keen on extending the loan until the end of the season.

Last month Shrews manager Graham Turner was quoted saying the arrangement was “advantageous” to the U’s.

A move remains a possibility for Hall, who is out of contract this summer, but with the clubs yet to reach an agreement he has returned to the Sky Bet League One club for the moment.

It leaves the U’s light on senior players for Saturday’s trip to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup.

They will also be without Dave Kitson, whose suspension is still in place following yesterday’s postponement of United’s game at Newport County.
