ALFIE Potter remains on course to make a return to action next month after the boot protecting his injured ankle was removed.
The Oxford United winger needed surgery after damaging ligaments against Bristol Rovers on November 2.
Potter is likely to still need at least another six weeks before being available for the U’s again, but is due to be back ahead of the squad’s other two long-term injured players – Andy Whing and Jon Meades.
United manager Chris Wilder said: “Alfie is making good progress. I should imagine he will be the first one back.
“They are all due back in the middle to the back end of February and are making the progression now from operation to walking to jogging.”
