Twin brothers Ross and Richard Phillips, who are both serving in the Royal Air Force in Oxfordshire, have been called up for the Great Britain wakeboarding team.

Ross is based at Benson and Richard at Brize Norton anbd the pair took up the sport only five years ago.

The twins, from Wakefield, will compete in the Over 30s Masters men category alongside long-standing professional wakeboarder Matt Crowhurst in the Euros this summer.

They train at the Oxford Wakeboard & Ski Club at Queenford Lakes Watersports Centre at Berinsfield.

Richard explains, “It’s an honour for us to have been selected to represent Great Britain.

“We’re hoping that this will help expand the reputation of wakeboarding.

“We serve our country every day in the military and to be given the opportunity to represent our country in our chosen sport too is fantastic.”
