AN ABILITY to bring through young talent will be a key attribute for candidates looking to become the next Oxford United manager
The process to find Chris Wilder’s replacement is under way, although a quick appointment is unlikely, with the board believed to favour a thorough interview process, similar to when they handed Wilder the job in 2008.
Chairman Ian Lenagan is keeping an open mind over whether they make a permanent appointment, or operate with an interim boss until the end of the season.
But there are certain strengths the U’s require.
Chief among these will be a commitment to promote talent from within.
Lenagan said: “I think the principles of the strategies that I and my board have for Oxford United are well known.
“We certainly would want a manager who espouses those strategies.”
