HENLEY Hawks’ home clash with Blaydon in National 1 tomorrow has been postponed due to waterlogging.
Hawks held an inspection on their Dry Leas ground yesterday, but the pitch was ruled unplayable.
“Dry Leas is usually pretty dry, but it was under water this morning,” said Henley press oficer Noel Armstead.
“With heavy rain forecast and Blaydon travelling a long way down from the north, we have called if off already.”
The news is another blow for relegation-threatened Henley, for whom flanker Matt Payne was due to return after being out since pre-season due to a freak spleen injury.
